Sloppy Joe Casserole

Sloppy Joe Pasta Casserole is a great recipe when you are feeding the family, attending a potluck or gifting a meal to a friend or family member. It has all the flavors of a sloppy Joe sandwich, but it is made into a cheesy casserole with pasta. Features our own Montana Steak Seasoning.

Ingredients
- 12 oz box large shell pasta
- 2 lbs lean ground beef
- 1 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 yellow onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 Tbsp Montana Steak Seasoning (SKU 109105)
- 1 Tbsp yellow mustard
- 15 oz tomato sauce
- ¾ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ tsp Kosher salt
- ¼ tsp ground black pepper
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cook shell pasta, then drain and set aside.
- Add the ground beef to a large skillet on medium-high heat and brown until cooked through, about 5-6 minutes.
- Drain the fat, lower heat to medium and add the butter, onions and bell pepper to the pan. Cook vegetables with the beef until onions and green bell peppers are translucent, about 6-8 minutes.
- Add the Montana Steak Seasoning, mustard, tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper to the pan and cook 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Place the ground beef mixture in a large mixing bowl. Stir in the cooked pasta, combining thoroughly.
- Pour half the mixture into a 9×13 baking dish and top with 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese. Add remaining pasta mixture and top with remaining cheese. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
