Funnel Cake Instructions
*Place all the dry mix in the bowl first and then add water to desired consistency.
5lbs Funnel Cake Mix
*70oz to 80oz water (70 -75 degrees) Do not exceed 80oz or product will break apart in the cooking process
1. Add the dry mix to the mixing bowl.
2. Add the water to desired consistency. *Note that adding water over the amount listed above will cause the cake to break apart during frying.
MIXING METHOD:
1. Using the paddle attachment on the mixer, mix on low speed for 10 seconds then scrape bowl.
2. Mix an additional 1 minute on medium speed. Do not over mix!
3. For hand mixing, use a wire whip for best results. Mix until the batter is smooth.
FRYING:
1. Preheat the frying fat to between 375 and 400 degrees F.
2. Fry approximately 20-30 seconds. When the edges are slightly brown, turn the cake and fry an additional 20-30 seconds.
3. Remove the cake form the fryer and let the excess oil drip back into the fryer.
Note: If using a frying pan instead of a ring and a fryer, make sure there is at least 2 inches of oil in the pan to start.
